Joyeux Saint Valentin!!!!!

Okay how do I start off with this week...
So last monday I went to sacré coeur!!!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!
Okay for tuesday i'll share with you a little miracle that happened. Lets go back to my very first transfer when I was in Paris for my legality. I was in the second group to go, so we had an hour to go out contacting, so i grabbed soeur erickson and we went contacting.
We contacted this lady she saw our name tags and was like "you're missionaries?" then she continued to tell us how she was taught by missionaries years ago when she lived in spain. She also said she didn't know that there were sister missionaries and said she'd loved to be taught by them! So i got her name and number. Then I gave them to the soeurs serving in ANTONY. However that was right before transfers so in all the mix up of that they didnt contact her, and i didnt think to call them to make sure they contacted her.
Fast forward to me coming to ANTONY. Its like my 3rd day here and I remembered about Emma, the lady i contacted 6 MONTHS AGO.  so i ask soeur tehoiri "have you ever heard of an Emma Edith?" she said no and then looked in the record books for all the contacts... NOT EVEN IN THERE! So I go to my very first planner and find the number she wrote down in my planner and her name. So I call her and we set up a rdv for tuesday.
Tuesday we meet her at the metro station closest to the church, she shows up with her daughter. And Emma recognized me!!!!! so then we walked to the church and gave her a tour and taught her a lesson and soft invited her to be baptized and she said yes! it was really an amazing lesson! I loved it. She was supposed to come to church on sunday, but she didn't show up :( But I'll keep you updated.
Okay, now to the other half of the week...
Wednesday we get a call from the doctors and we have an appointment to see the anesthesiologist. So we show up and they tell me that actually, they're just going to do the operation today, right then! ok well not right then, i waited like 2 hours but pretty much right then. So they make me change into hospital clothes and then the roll me  into the elevator and down to the surgery rooms.
I almost started laughing. But really, you know in the movies how it looks when they're performing a serious surgery like open heart surgery. That's what it looked like!!! They even were monitoring my heart! but anyway they set everything up all seriously taking like 30 minutes and then they numb my toes and perform the "surgery" within like 10 minutes max. and then they wrap my feet in ginormous bandages. A member came and picked us up and I spent the rest of the night in the apartment.
Okay the next day was zone conference and I could walk, it was just hard because i have giant bandages so (don't laugh)... Our ZL gave me his giant pair of sperry's. So i walked (slowly) to the metro and then from the metro to our meeting. I should have never gone... I don't think i'm going to ever live it up. Don't worry, photos were taken, just not on my camera, so sorry you don't get to see them.
So then we get back from zone conference and the nurse comes to change my bandages to smaller ones.... Oh boy did she get mad at me for walking outside the day after my operation... So she forbade me to leave the apartment for 48 hours.
Friday longest day of my life! saturday was better cause it was valentines day, so we baked goodies all day! and the other soeurs came home and gave us roses and chocolate!!!!!! but we got them by heart attacking their door;
But sunday we went to church and then the other soeurs did exchanges with us cause we had set up two rdvs. so soeur sorenson and i stayed inside and watched ephraims rescue and some other movies. and soeur tehoiri and mason went out and taught the less active lady from mexico!!!!! She's going to come to church next sunday! yay!
So that was my week! I got the permission on saturday to leave the apartment and walk for like 1 hour each day... So yeah the next week will be fun... Love you all and have a good week!
Bisous!!!!

Iaorana!!!! <----- I'm learning tahitian!

Jk i'm still working on french first.
I'm now in Paris!!!! Okay so my week was amazing!!!!!! but at the same time pretty terrible.
Lets start with the bad. Okay so i got ingrown toenails on both of my big toes this past week. Which is fine, i tried to get them out and i couldn't but it still wasnt bad, i called the mission nurse to see  what i could do. She told me a few things blah blah blah. Okay, so transfer days come and ça va my feet are kinda hurting me. But its okay. We take the metro to what we call le plan de salut area at chatelet. I get out of the metro trip over my suitcases (klutz i know) and came down hard hitting my left foot down toes first.... It was almost impossible to walk the rest of the day. So i'm not gonna go into details about how gross my toe looks right now... but i went to the doctors friday and he said that I need surgery on my left toe and might as well take care of the other one at the same time.
Problem, we have to go through the missionary insurance for everything and the office wouldnt let us set up a rdv before going to the insurance. so... I still don't have a rdv for my surgery (today on monday) because the insurance company gets weekends off... But its okay because the doctor gave me stuff to help the pain and everything and so it really doesnt hurt at all now! but it still looks disgusting.... So there's my gross bad part of the week
Good things this week!

1.IT SNOWED A LOT IN ANGERS!!!!! granted it was probably like 1 cm, but it stuck! and it was coming down super hard! So yeah it was amazing!!!! then i got to paris and it snowed too!!! it was weak, but still it was snow.
2. I'M IN PARIS!!!! everyday my companion points out every tourist thing. I see the eiffel tower at a distance everyday! also one of the metro stops that's by our house is right next to the catacombs! even with all the problems with my feet, I haven't been happier in my life. I just can't believe it, I LIVE IN PARIS!
3. We found a less active from mexico! We were doing some contacting and we contacted this one woman, she was not interested at all!  but we kept talking anyway and then soeur tehoiri introduced herself and showed her badge and the lady was like "la Iglesia de Jesu Cristo de los Santos de las ultimas Dias?" and we were like SI!!!!!! and she said "je suis membre!" so then we helped her with her groceries and ate with her. Its been 25 years since she moved to france and the only contact she had with the church since then is when she goes on vacation to mexico and then she goes to church there. So that was super cool that we found her! we're going over next sunday after church! so excited, she's so sweet!
Anyway i love it here in paris and i love soeur tehoiri. We have an absolute blast together. Well I hope you all have a good week. Can't wait to hear about Alicia's baby! Sad I just barely missed it, but i have to go visit paris for pday! duh!!!! Okay well I love you all!
Bonne semaine et gros bisous!

La Patience

Okay so this was a terrible and yet still good week with more lessons on patience...

Monday night at 10:28pm- power goes out.... I go out into the hall and the hall light works, so its just our apartment. So we go to our circuit breaker, and reset it-nothing. So we call the Elders... They tell us that we may have to get a new box but to go to bed and call the office in the morning.

Tuesday morning call the office, they say they'll call someone. We go to the church to do our studies and get ready because we have no light in our apartment (no heat or hot water either)... this does not help people thinking that we live in the church... but anyway we have district meeting and  have a fun time. Come back still no call... finally at 4:30 we call the office again. Only to have them say it's too late to get anyone over... we go to have dinner at our recently released dmp and borrow flashlights from him.

Wednesday we wait for a call.... No call- we go and take a shower at a members (no hot water)- no call, no call. We have a rdv... Put the phone on silent... Have a 30 min lesson- CALL during the lesson. So then we call back, no answer. Finally after the third time calling they answer... "we'll get someone over in like 2 hours" okay thanks. (might i remind you that this means 2 days without heat, or hot water) Finally someone shows up, he goes to the breaker box, does the exact same thing me and soeur r did (10 times each when we called the elders, the office, the office again, and the electrician) and the lights come back on...

Thursday was a normal day

Friday- soeur conference!!!!!!! It was so great, i loved it! we go see the eiffel tour afterwards. Get to the gare... Trains 15 min late... It changes to 20... Then 25.... And then 50, by this time it's almost 8pm and theres no chance of getting back to angers on time. So we start making calls. (i start having a migraine from not eating/drinking enough all day, and stress and just exhaustion). Paris stls already have 6 people staying in there apartment so thats a no go. Everyone else is too far out finally we get ahold of st. ouen.  and they said we could stay over! -problem, none of us know the metro system. but eventually we get there and then 20 min they show up and take us to the apartment. We crash there

Saturday: earliest train we could get back home was 11:22... Repertoire comes out at 12. so we were on a train when everyone else was looking at repertoire. So 12 comes and we're calling everyone to find out the news- no one is answering! finally we call nantes soeurs- they answer! soeur hafen takes forever to look up my name... I'm going to Antony!!!!!!!! It's in paris. I'll actually be living with the paris stl's in center paris!!! but wait theres more. My new companion is a TAHITIAN!!!! So yeah i'm excited. i'm going to paris and will constantly be speaking french!

Sunday, so hard to say goodbye to the ward :( I'm gonna miss them. But everyone was so nice and literally got so many complements on how much my french improved. so that was nice.

Ok, so sorry for the long letter, but a lot happened. Well have a nice week! love you all so much and miss you tons!

Gros bisous!!!!

Last few days left in Angers :(

Okay right after getting off emails last week we got a text announcing that the mission is having a Soeur Conference! and guess what its going to be this next friday! Really soon, but i'm super excited! So you'll be hearing about that more next week, and also you'll be hearing next week where i'm being transferred! I don't want to jinx it like i did last transfer but i'm pretty much 100% sure i'm leaving. Which it'll be super weird because friday i'll see all the soeurs in the mission and then the next day i'll find out who my new companion is... Which i'll have just seen them the day before haha.

Well anyway on with my week.

So this week soeur r and i made it a goal to give out/introduce the book of mormon more often. AND guess what? We gave out 2 book of mormons this week and  offered one to another person! It was super cool!

Friday was the day that stood out this week... It was weekly planning, but honestly we didnt get anything done all day! So we had studies and then the Fitts (mission couple in our area) came over to inspect the apartment. and they stayed pretty much the entire day. They left for maybe two hours, but that was when we did our weekly planning. so yeah remember how our apartment was all fixed last week? well this past week it broke again... the main thing is our fan in the bathroom. It stopped working 2 days before they came so they checked it out. It was pretty much fried... So they spent hours working on that (which included elder fitt shocking himself and also blowing a fuse). All of that only to go to the department store to have the people there say that he should not be working with live wires right above a shower. So now we have our opened up fan with the wires taped with electrical tape and then taped back away from the shower, sounds safe huh?

So by the time they left it was time for dinner, we hoped we'd have dinner and go do porting before we went to an 8 year olds baptism. Elders call "hey soeurs can you fill up the font because we can't and no one else knows how to do it". Why yes we can... There goes our porting... BUT the mother of the boy getting baptized is such a member missionary! She is currently going to college for a different degree and she invited all her friends from her classes. So, we gave 3 church tours and set up a rdv with another lady! So even though it was a long  day of nothing, we still were able to do missionary work that day! YAY!

That was basically the highlight of the week. Today before emails we went into the Angers Cathedral. Took me long enough to get there! 4 transfers, 5 months, and my 2nd to last Pday in the ville i finally go to the cathedral :P

Well i hope you all have a great week! Love you all and miss you tons! Gros bisous!
